Cost Effective Water Conservation

Filter First and Diverter Second

Drainpipe Bell Strainer

Rain water gutters and Drainpipes on domestic dwellings and commercial buildings are normally totally neglected until there is a problem which becomes visually apparent.

The main problem with guttering is it becomes blocked with debris such as leaves, roof moss, grit and sand.

The normal way to try to protect against this problem is to put either mesh over the guttering or a small bell-type strainer in the top of the drainpipe. THEY DON'T WORK.

The Bell-type strainer normally creates more problems than it solves, it prevents some debris going down the drainpipe but contributes significantly to blocking the guttering, which guarantees you must go up the ladder to clean out the guttering.

The mesh over the guttering becomes a danger in itself, because the person doing the maintenance has to spend more time up the ladder moving and replacing it before they can clean the gutter, with the subsequent increased safety risk.

We have the most effective leaf filter.

Safety First

We have designed the filter to practically eliminate the need for the owner or maintenance person to go up the ladder to keep the gutters and drainpipe clear.

The leaf collector filter is designed to be fitted between 3 to 5 feet above the ground level, at a height which allows a person to clean the filter basket without having to bend or stretch.

In addition to the collection of debris the filter has built into it a water diverter. The filter basket in the rain water saver has 2 positions: "Thru" allows the water to go directly to the drain or soak away. "Butt" diverts the water to the water butt.

Benefits of the Filter

  • Almost completely eliminates the need to go up the ladder
  • Major safety aspect. Health & Safety Executive statistics show accidents involving ladders are increasing.
  • Reducing the probability of blocking the gutter or drainpipe can have the following cost savings for your property
  • Less chance of water/damp getting to the roof joists and rotting them
  • Less chance of drains or soakaways becoming blocked
  • Environmentally friendly, the ability to divert the water into storage
