The selection of any of these will depend of the amount of rain water you are anticipating collecting and the space available to locate the storage vessel/tanks. The means of collection is normally the water butt, these can be used independently by each of your downpipes or you can have them in one location and inter connected with short lengths of hose. The problem with round water butts they tend to waste space. If storing larger quantities of rainwater you should consider rectangular tanks which are more space efficient.
